Any day/boutique spa that opened before the end of February 2023.

Criteria

To enter this category, the spa must offer water and/or steam facilities (e.g. pool, hot tubs, steam room). If your property does not have water/steam facilities, you should enter one of the Salon of the Year categories.

This category is for any beauty therapist who has been working in a salon, spa, clinic or as a mobile therapist. Therapists who work from their own homes are eligible to enter.

The therapist of the year award is given to a therapist who has demonstrated exceptional skill, dedication, and impact in their field. This award recognizes their outstanding contributions to the mental health and well-being of their clients, as well as their commitment to professional development and ethical practice. The recipient of this award is a leader in their field and serves as a role model for other therapists.

HOW TO ENTER

  • The following needs to be submitted;
  1. 4 FINAL IMAGES - Please submit in high and low resolution 10" x 8" (portrait)
  2. PRE-EDIT IMAGES - Entries must be supplied with an “after” shot of each model before any post-production/ retouching. Each photograph should be no larger than 10" x 8" (portrait). The organisers and judges reserve the right to question any photographs, which appear to be computer enhanced. 
  3. BEFORE IMAGES - Entries must be supplied with a ‘before’ picture of each model taken on the day of the shoot prior to any hair work, make-up or styling. 10" x 8" (portrait)


THE PHOTOGRAPHIC SHOOT

  • You must declare which pictures contain the above by naming the pictures with the words ‘wig’ or ‘extension/hairpiece/strand’. 
  • No more than two faces may appear in any one photograph.
  • No more than three pictures can be used in two different categories. Photographs may be black and white or colour and the hair should be aspirational, wearable and reflect current trends.
  • Professional photographers, make-up artists and stylists may be used.
  • Images do not have to be head and shoulders, but they do need to focus on the hair, especially in terms of lighting and pose 

Aesthetic Therapist of the Year

Who can enter?

Any aesthetic therapist who runs their own business or works within a clinic.

How will this category be judged?

The judging panel will create the shortlist and score the entries on how they meet the required criteria. The winner will then be decided by the judging panel taking into consideration their entry

Entrants will be judged on their ability to deliver outstanding cuts, shaves, and styling, as well as their contribution to advancing barbering culture and elevating client experiences.
