With over 20 years of expertise in Beauty and aesthetic skincare, I am a passionate professional dedicated to advancing beauty and dermatological treatments. My journey began with a diploma in Somatology (2005–2007) followed by International certifications in Cidesco Beauty & Spa, CIBTEC Aromatherapy, ITEC Reflexology**, and specialized training in eyelash extensions, nail enhancements, and paramedical scar treatments. I honed my skills working on cruise ships for three years before joining a prestigious medical practice in Melrose Arch for eight years, assisting the Dr with advanced procedures like liposuction, stem cell therapies, fat transfers, and CO₂ lasers. I further expanded my expertise with an International Laser Diploma through the Laser College of America and gained hands-on experience. I also work as an Advanced laser therapist along-side a dermatologist assisting a with PDT treatments for skin cancers. My passion for learning about everything our industry has to offer also led me to do a course in prosthetic makeup, and an International diploma in permanent makeup (PMU) I started my journey with Dermafrica as a representative for Mesoestetic in 2020, where I now serve as a Global Representative, driving sales and education across all the African countries. I matriculated at Grey Collage 2008 and graduated with a B.Comm Marketing degree at the UFS in 2011 I started working at Bio Sculpture in 2012, became Brand manager in 2014 and became Managing Director in 2022 until now. Once upon a time, I had a dream to become a motorcycle mechanic. My ambitions were set on engines and gears, but life had other plans. My journey took an unexpected turn and guided me into the vibrant world of hairdressing. This unexpected shift led me to start my career at Carlton Hair in Cape Town. It was here that I unearthed my true passion for the hair industry. Specializing not only in ladies' hair but also mastering the art of barbering, my dedication to my craft grew. My expertise caught the attention of Sorbet Man, where I became the educator in 2014. In this role, my responsibilities included training and skill development for the group. What I find most rewarding is witnessing a student's transformation. From beginning with no knowledge and skills in the industry to blossoming into passionate and proficient professionals, the journey of each student is a testament to my teaching prowess. Today, I remain actively involved in training and sales of various hair brands. Despite my extensive commitments, I still dedicate his Saturdays to hairdressing and barbering at a salon. Miss Jacoline Wentzel is without a doubt passionate about the Spa Industry and is a respected industry representative and entrepreneur. Since 2005, Jacoline has been Managing director and leading spa consultant of The Spa Warehouse, a leading supplier of various prestigious spa brands, equipment and spa furniture as well as a consulting company that offers a variety of consulting and design services to luxury spa establishments. Since the start of The Spa Warehouse in 2005, Jacoline has established herself as one of the leading spa consultants in Africa and have consulted on more than 100 projects throughout Africa and Mauritius. Jacoline has also served on numerous boards in our industry throughout her career and has been a pioneer in establishing and improving the spa industry in South Africa.

Her passion for innovation led her to South Korea for advanced nail training, where she was later appointed as an educator. Beyond the beauty industry, Jessie has built and managed several thriving businesses and is now the founder of Pretty Creative Studio, where she specializes in social media management, coaching, and photography, helping brands craft authentic and engaging digital identities. Katia Da Silva is the Sole Distributor of NSI Nail products in South Africa and Founder of Nail Trinkets nail art accessories. From almost 27 years, Katia has been a qualified nail technician. Her love for nails has driven her to compete at competitions in South Africa and internationally within NSI. For more than 5 years, Katia is one of 3 Global Educators for NSI Head Quarters in, Philadelphia, USA. Nails is Katia’s passion! Having been the President of SABA for five years, I was involved in the amalgamation of SAAHSP and SABA, and strived to see the amalgamation successfully transpire. Francisco was born in Barcelona, Spain. He was a professional gymnast for over 13 years and achieved a Bachelor’s Degree in History by the University of Barcelona in 2001. From 2002 to 2006 he worked onboard international cruise liners. In 2007 he was appointed as Rooms Division Manager at Aquila Private Game Reserve, in Tows river. In May 2008, he was appointed Spa Manager of the iconic Mount Grace Country House & Spa, (Autograph Collection Hotel and Marriott International) where he oversaw the entire Spa operation and a team of 40 employees. Under his supervision the spa received the Professional Beauty Award for Best Hotel Spa in the country in 2010. In 2011 Francisco took on the role of Spa Director at Arabella Hotel and Spa, in Kleinmond (then an African Pride hotel and now Marriott International), where he received the accolade of Les Nouvelles Esthetiques Spa Management Excellence Award in 2011. In 2014 he started working for Amani Spas Group, as Director of Spa Consultancy and Director of Spa operations, later being promoted to C.O.O. where he was responsible for 15 spa units in the country , together with being involved in the development of the Amani Spa Brand and Footprint in Africa. In late 2016, he became an independent Spa Consultant, providing tun key solutions from conception to completion and operations assistance to spas around the country together with devoting its time to training and development. In 2016 he was appointed, Spa Manager at Jiva Spa, at the TAJ Hotel in Cape Town, where he took the Jiva Spa team to new heights and to become a reference point in the beauty industry in the country. Recently widening his expertise and reach, Francisco has been expanding his professional portfolio into the Quality Assurance and Brand Standard field with influence overseeing the Hotel Rooms Divisions Operations. In 2024 he was appointed as Hotel Manager at Hazendal Hotel and Spa. Gerda Hefer is a CIDESCO qualified somatologist, fully immersed in the world of skin health & aesthetics. She is a skincare expert & medical aesthetician with 30 years of experience. “My journey began at the tender age of 10, inspired by the remarkable healing of my own surgical wound. This early fascination with skin led me to be continually inspired by the beauty of the biology and science of our skin. I love skin, peace & fabulous skincare!” Gerda’s diverse background includes ownership of two award-winning skincare clinics and recognition as an award-winning sales executive in skincare aesthetics. I am a somatologist and aesthetician, I have been working in the spa industry for the last 20 years. I have been spa manager for such brands as The Saxon Hotel, The Four Seasons The Westcliff, and the spa manager for the Ritz-Carlton Yacht collection. I was the founder of Hines and Harley men's grooming lounge which won Professional Beauty's award for best men's salon in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020. Karen Ellithorne is a qualified aesthetician who has been actively involved in the health and skincare industry in South Africa since 1992. Working first as a therapist and then as a lecturer, Karen began sharing her industry-leading knowledge and expertise with others when she took over management of the local Medical Aesthetics Convention. Karen’s career in the beauty business started when she bought the South African distribution rights for a global nail polish and cosmetics brand.
